Trauma Resilience in UK Policing

 

Fantastic developments in the project were agreed at the Steering Group meeting on 19th January 2018....

The Trauma Resilience in UK Policing Steering Group met for over 4 hours on the 19th of January and agreed on: 

  • More time to be scheduled for future meetings as there is so much going on!

  • Post-Incident Trauma Processing training (Randomised Controlled Trial) to start in March 2018 with 100 new recruits at Greater Manchester Police

  • Priorities for qualitative research -nearly completed- on mental health and resilience in high-risk areas of atypical trauma exposure, such as Child Sexual Exploitation, Counter Terrorism and emergency call handling

  • Trauma Management Survey pilot and field work dates with Dr Brendan Burchell at the University of Cambridge: June and October 2019 

  • NEW RESOURCES to be released -an extra pair of hands for Dr Jess, Dr Brendan and CEO Gill to maintain the project's fast-paced delivery on some high profile issues.
